Stop Two of the Where Things Come Back Blog Tour! Book Trailer and Movie Casting @ 09:46 am

Current Mood: contemplative contemplative
Current Music: What Are We Gonna Do ~ Glen Hansard

I'm proud to be a part of the blog tour hosted by GReads! The tour was designed to celebrate the paperback release of Where Things Come Back, John Corey Whaley's award winning Young Adult masterwork. The tour started yesterday on the Greads! site and travels to a new blog each day until it returns full circle at GReads! on July 24th. Each blogger will write about a different aspect of the book including author interviews, recipes and more! Follow the links below to travel with the tour.

WTCB Blog Tour Schedule:
Tuesday, July 17: Jenn @ Hip Mama Jenn
Wednesday, July 18: Sash @ Sash & Em
Thursday, July 19: Kate @ Ex Libris
Friday, July 20: Joy @ Book Lagniappe
Saturday, July 21: Melanie @ Reclusive Bibliophile
Sunday, July 22: Asheley @ Into the Hall of Books
Monday, July 23: Stephanie @ Teen Librarian's Toolbox
Tuesday, July 24: Ginger @ GReads!

When I first heard about the tour I planned on writing about the music discussed in Where Things Come Back. John Corey Whaley mentions numerous bands and songs throughout the book which help set the mood of the scenes and help readers to understand the culture and background of the characters. I found a great interview/blog entry that beat me to it here :

I'd like to share the official book video that was created by Mr. Whaley and his collaborater Ben Jenkins.

This may or may not be how you would present the book to perspective readers, either way it opens the question, who would you cast in a film version of the book? The rights to turn the book into a feature film are being shopped around now- I'm rooting for Lasse Hallström to direct... Let's play casting agent! Comment back with your dream performers and don't forget to follow the Blog Tour and enter the contest on GReads! to win a FREE book!

When I first heard the movie rights had been sold I got super excited. I think if done well, this could be an outstanding movie. It's the type of book that just screams to be seen! Ya know? As for who to play Cullen Witter, I always imagined Logan Lerman. (Yes I know he's about to be huge in the adaptation of Perks, but I still love him!)

Thank you so much Jen for being a part of this blog tour with me :)
